AIM-PRO stands for AI Literacy for Multidisciplinary Professional Readiness and Outreach. It is a European Erasmus+ Alliance for Innovation project that aims to strengthen AI literacy across higher education, vocational education and training (VET) and the workforce. It develops innovative educational frameworks, tools and resources to help learners and educators engage critically and responsibly with artificial intelligence.
The main goal of AIM-PRO is to improve AI literacy across Europe by:
- Developing multidisciplinary learning frameworks
- Creating open educational resources (OERs)
- Supporting educators and learners with digital tools
- Promoting responsible and ethical use of AI
- Strengthening digital, green and entrepreneurial skills.
AIM-PRO is implemented by a consortium of 15 partner organisations from 10 European countries, bringing together universities, research centres, training providers, certification bodies and industry partners. This multidisciplinary collaboration ensures that the project’s AI literacy frameworks, tools and learning resources address the needs of education, training and the labour market across Europe. Details about the consortium can be found on the Partners page.
AIM-PRO is funded by the European Union through the Erasmus+ Alliances for Innovation programme (Grant Agreement No. 101245864). The project also receives financial support from Movetia, the Swiss funding agency for exchange, mobility and cooperation in education, continuing education and youth work in Switzerland, Europe and worldwide. Together, these funding bodies support AIM-PRO’s mission to strengthen AI literacy and promote responsible AI adoption across Europe.
AIM-PRO is designed for anyone involved in education, training, research, industry or policymaking who wants to strengthen AI literacy and promote the responsible use of Artificial Intelligence.
The project primarily supports:
- Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), including lecturers, researchers and students
- Vocational Education and Training (VET) providers, trainers and learners
- Professional trainers and lifelong learning providers
- Companies of all sizes, including SMEs, HR departments, entrepreneurs and workers seeking to develop AI-related competencies
- Researchers and experts in Artificial Intelligence, Model-Driven Engineering (MDE), sustainability, education and innovation
- Public institutions and organisations involved in education, skills development and workforce policies
AIM-PRO also supports policymakers, media organisations, the wider research community and citizens by promoting ethical, sustainable and inclusive AI adoption.
AIM-PRO will develop a comprehensive ecosystem of resources, methodologies and digital tools to support AI literacy across education and professional training. Key outputs include:
- An AI Literacy Framework for education and training contexts
- Open Educational Resources (OERs) and learning materials
- AI literacy learning scenarios and personalised learning pathways
- Digital tools based on Artificial Intelligence, MDE, and Digital Twin technologies.
- Training and implementation guidelines for educators and trainers
- Open badges / LinkedIn-compatible micro-credentials aligned with European qualification framework (EQF) levels 5-6
- Pilot implementations and evaluation reports
- Scientific publications and policy recommendations.
Many initiatives focus on teaching AI skills, but AIM-PRO goes further by integrating three dimensions that are rarely combined in a single framework:
- Responsible and sustainable AI by design. AIM-PRO embeds ethics and sustainability directly into the learning process rather than treating them as add-ons. Measurable environmental indicators, including energy consumption, CO₂ emissions and hardware usage, are integrated into the learning framework alongside structured ethical guidance, enabling learners to understand both the impact and responsible use of AI.
- Integration of AI, entrepreneurial and green competences. The project unifies established European frameworks, DigComp, UNESCO’s AI competency frameworks, GreenComp and EntreComp, into a single coherent model that connects digital, green and entrepreneurial skills.
- A technically innovative learning backbone. AIM-PRO leverages Educational Knowledge Graphs (GraphRAG), MDE and Digital Twin technologies to enable adaptive, personalised and explainable learning experiences rather than static content delivery.
Beyond this, AIM-PRO offers gamified learning pathways (including AI ethics quests and Green AI challenges), open badges and micro-credentials, and freely accessible Open Educational Resources. These are co-designed and tested with higher education institutions, VET providers and SMEs to ensure relevance to real-world professional needs.
AIM-PRO runs from 1 February 2026 to 31 January 2029. During this period, the consortium will develop and validate innovative AI literacy frameworks, tools and learning resources. Public project results will continue to be available through the website and associated repositories after the project’s completion, supporting the long-term sustainability and impact of AIM-PRO.
Yes. AIM-PRO is committed to openness and knowledge sharing. Project results, publications, learning resources, videos and other materials will be made available through the project website and associated open-access repositories (e.g. Zenodo) whenever possible.
The project’s frameworks, tools and learning resources will be piloted and validated across higher education, vocational education and training, and professional learning environments. Feedback from learners, educators, trainers, companies and other stakeholders will help ensure that the results are practical, relevant and transferable across Europe.
Yes! AIM-PRO will pilot its frameworks and tools with higher education institutions, VET providers and SMEs across Europe. Organisations interested in testing resources can express interest via info@aim-pro.eu.
