Jjodel 3.0 is out
Building a modeling language usually means learning a toolchain before you can draw a single box. Jjodel 3.0 removes that step.
Released on 15 September 2026: Jjodel 3.0, open source, browser based, nothing to install.
What is new:
- Three new textual languages: JjEL for expressions, JjTL for transformations, JjScript for refactorings and in-place transformations
- Data Manager: tables and forms for blended modeling, not just diagrams
- View Designer: notation authored from panels, no code to render your own syntax
- Jjodie: an AI assistant that creates metamodels and models from any multimodal description in a mediated way (no artifact is manipulated directly)
The point is not the feature list. It is the loop: define a language, create models, see results instantly, in the same tab.
We built it at the Università degli Studi dell’Aquila in the SWEN research group, for research and for teaching. If you teach metamodeling and model-driven engineering, we would like to know what your students get stuck on first.
