Tian Zhou Receives Outstanding Poster Award at EdMedia 2026
We are pleased to congratulate Tian Zhou (Vrije Universiteit Brussel) on receiving the Outstanding Poster Award for her poster presented at EdMedia 2026, an international conference on educational media, technology-enhanced learning, and digital education.
The awarded study, conducted in collaboration with Jo Tondeur (Vrije Universiteit Brussel), Sarah Howard (University of Leeds), and Ronny Scherer (University of Oslo), is part of the AIM-PRO project and explores how adult learners, an often underrepresented yet crucial group in education research, perceive the affordances and concerns of artificial intelligence (AI) in learning contexts.
The study analyzed open-ended responses from 547 adult learners enrolled at a Centre for Adult Education in Flanders (Belgium), providing rich qualitative insights into learners’ perspectives on AI-supported education. The findings provide nuanced evidence of how adult learners interpret both the affordances and concerns of AI in learning environments, offering important input for designing more responsive and learner-centered approaches to AI integration in education.
The full paper with quantitative data is expected to follow soon, while the poster can be downloaded from here.
